Manaus, Day 5

Day 5
Are we really only on Day 5? Seems like ages since we were in England, the language is even starting to sound normal, if mostly incomprehendable.

Manaus is one of those places which immediateley stifles you. The heat is unrelenting, even now at 9 o'clock its a bit too much for me. The city has a much better atmosphere than SP though, and also feels a lot safer. I suppose if there is nothing to complain about, I'll just have to complain about the weather.

We booked our Amazon tour today: four days in the jungle. We leave at 7am tomorrow. This is what we have come here for, not the beaches or the sun (lucky bonuses) but an experience of a truly unique environment.

We have also been somewhat relaxed by being able to communicate more with other people. Our companions on the tour, for instance, are Irish and we've all hit it off really well. In short Manaus is great and the next few weeks will be the best.

Sólo puedo imaginar lo increíble de esos lugares a través de tus relatos. Pienso que habría sido una gran traductora y tú eras un poco fresa ;)
